Rich in history, this succulent was a commonly planted on rooftops in Europe and Scandanavia to prevent fires by lightning due to its high water holding capacity of its leaves. This succulent is a hardy, drought tolerant plant and could survive most weather conditions. New leaves are produced from the inner core while older leaves are shed on the outer.
